Mt Victoria Inner City Festival

SATURDAY 28 FEBRUARY: 10am - 3pm - Roxburgh Street, Mt Victoria

Yes, the first of an annual Mt Victoria Inner city festival will be taking place in 2009!!

This is being organized by a festival committee of the New Crossways Community Trust and it is our vision for this to be the first of an annual festival for Mt Victoria and the inner city to;

· support and celebrate the community and its diversity through the arts, community support groups, culture and learning
· raise money for New Crossways – Mt Victoria’s community facility
· highlight the new facility, following the sale of Crossways

Theme
The theme is sustainability and organic living

Location
Roxburgh Street, Mt Victoria - the streets will be closed between Majoribanks St - Caroline St from 7.30am – 5pm to allow for stalls, music, and workshops

Our community facility is based at 6 Roxburgh street, upstairs and this is where our festival headquarters will be, as well as community stalls and workshops around sustainability.

The Plan
This first festival will be on a small scale, with both commercially driven and community minded interest groups, a music stage, food, entertainment, bouncy castle, local artists, 'speed shops' (i.e. composting, growing vegetables on your balcony/small section, wind farms etc), activities for kids/youth/adults alike with a carnival atmosphere.

If you are interested in having a stall, performing, being involved, running a workshop on sustainability, volunteering to help the organising committee or in any other way, please contact us. All interest and enquiries welcome!
