The Open Day at Crossways on Saturday 13 October was held on a beautiful sunny day and we had a fantastic turnout, with visitors enjoying a variety of entertainment and refreshments while finding out about the “Keep Crossways” campaign. The day was aimed at raising awareness of the campaign to save Crossways and to enjoy the House as a community. Approximately $2,500 was raised towards the purchase of Crossways!
It was fantastic to see Crossways alive and buzzing with atmosphere engaging people and looking at the exciting possibilities for its future.
Entertainment throughout the day included a barrel organ, Tango, Leila Belly Dance, Brownies, Duquende Flamenco, face painting, the Brass Razoo, the Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra who as well as inspiring the kids to dance, had everyone singing along, the Real Hot Bitches and DJ’s from Sandwiches nightclub. Thank you to everyone involved.
Thank you to our sponsors and supporters; The Crossways Community Trust committee members and volunteers, Sandwiches nightclub, Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra, The Real Hot Bitches, Ambience on Elizabeth, Crossways Creche, Mt Victoria Historical Society, Capital Productions, Café L’affare, tleaft, Resene, Deluxe Café.
Finally THANK YOU TO YOU ALL for coming along and being part of the community – after all that is what Crossways is all about. A house for the community - It’s now time to save it!
